Setting: my house
Time: about 2:30
Scene: I am getting Alex and Gavin ready for naps. I change Gavin's poopy diaper and then I change Alex, but he escapes before I can get the fresh diaper on him. Not concerned, I let him enjoy his favorite pastime of running around naked while I feed Gavin his bottle. Then I take Gavin upstairs and put him in his bed. I come back downstairs and take Alex upstairs, nurse him, and put him in his crib. Meanwhile, I go and make dinner (check it out at serendipitykitchens.blogspot.com).
Two hours later I hear Alex crying so I go upstairs and lift him out of his crib. He has something on his face and I say, "What were you doing, eating chocolate?" That's when the smell finally hit me..."Oh no! I forgot to put a diaper on you!"
Yes, I did it, or should I say didn't do it...he was diaper-less for a good 2 hours, in his bed, sleeping most of the time, but from the looks of the brown fingerprints on his singing dog and all over the crib, he had a little play-date with the poo-monster as well. It was the biggest poopy mess i have ever had to clean up. This is coming from someone who has been sprayed in the face with poop.
Needless to say, Alex got a bath and Gavin woke up and had pooped (again!) and so he took a bath with Alex as well. They had a great time crawling around naked afterward.

Here is the little poo-man himself.Moral of the Story: Don't put a baby to bed without a diaper on.
I am hoping this story will help Megan feel a little bit better when I say I understand how she feels. Luckily, Heavenly Father gave us a sense of humor.

ROTFL!! thats great robin Ive had diapers go missing but never forgotten to put the diaper back on my kid!!
and I know how you feel about no one commenting I hardly get any either most of the time and im usually so busy anymore I hardly have time to comment!
Okay, okay, I'll comment already!! I usually have nothing to say, but: cute! So it gets real old reading mine. Note to self: place kid in diaper before naptime.
Oh my gosh, that's HILARIOUS! Maybe you need to start going through a checklist before naptime, just to be sure, haha! A few days ago I forgot to put a diaper on N at naptime, she had cute little panties on since we're in the midst of the oh-so-fun potty-training stage, and that ended up with the poor girl standing at her locked door peeing all over herself. WAAAAY easier to clean up than poo, but I still now double-check for a diaper b4 naps! I bet Alex had fun, though, smearing it everywhere...

In my defense he was wearing a jumper thing that was unbuttoned at the crotch, so it looks like a long dress...
Wow. There are no words. That's hilarious you forgot. It's so funny when we forget the most obvious things. Oh man, I'm just envisioning this whole thing. I did not remember you got pooped in the face. Oh man, I am so sorry. Great story, though. Greg and I read your blog! Do we never comment? Sometimes Greg reads to me while I'm doing something else, and then we talk about it together and then I think I've commented when I haven't! Also, you guys used to NEVER post. So I think we're in the habit of thinking it will be a couple months between each posting. We'll start checking more often!
Haha. At least he was confined to a crib. Imagine if he had been able to poop-monster the whole house! You would probably be finding little brown streaks for months! haha. That still stinks though... (no pun intended)--I mean, who likes to clean up poo that has been smeared all over the place! Oh yeah, and like Megan said, we ALWAYS read your blog, but you had a lull in the blogging a while back so we haven't been checking as often. I can assure you we haven't missed a post though! Keep it up! We miss you guys!

Thanks for all of the comments everyone! I know that most of you always comment. I think I was just feeling a little sorry for myself at the time i was posting. Never fear! I am back to normal now. :0 Whatever that means...
