From the Fields of the Great Pumpkin and the Cliffs of Yosemite ...

The Great Pumpkin came to visit us for Halloween! Isn't he cute?
He was pretty chubby...the costume gave him an inner-tube tummy. :)
Did you know that the Great Pumkin's dad is Yosemite Sam? Yes, I was surprised too, but it's true!
Alex was hilarious in his chubby costume. Above is a video of him trying to crawl in it... he had to alter his style a little bit to make it work, but once he figured it out, he was pretty fast.
The Great Pumpkin and the Not-So-Cowardly Lion seemed to like each other.
Here are all three of the boys who dressed up. Yosemite Sam was pretty tired and fell asleep while I was taking this picture. haha (Uncle Randy dressed up too and frightened all of the trick-or-treaters that came to Molly and John's house, but I failed to get a picture of him for some reason...)Paul wore his costume for work, so he had on that ridiculous mustache for about 10 hours! It really impeded his eating and drinking, so he was pretty tired of wearing it by this time of night and took it all off soon after.
Paul works in the Savings Dept of a local bank and his department voted on the costume theme for Halloween, which was a Western Theme...so, Paul came home very disappointed because he can't stand cowboy stuff! I thought about it and said that he should just dress up as Yosemite Sam as a joke...well, Paul really liked that idea, so we went about creating the costume. The mustache and eyebrows were created by me (Robyn) out of yarn, glue and felt. The guns came from the dollar store and the rest was borrowed. It was pretty fun and it paid off, because the bank had a costume party and a contest for best costume and Paul won 3rd place! He won $10 in movie money!

Blast from the Past
Aunt Pat's blog post inspired me to check out www.yearbookyourself.com If you haven't done this yest, you should definitely give it a try. It is really funny to play around with!
The following images are the result of this website:
Do you think Paul still would have fell in love with me in high school if I had looked like this?
Maybe if I had a chin job... my nose needs some adjusting as well. But, I do have nice hair.
I must say that Paul is still hot in a grungy/dreamy sort of way...but his neck has some sort of weird tumor... We would definitly need to have that removed.
ALL the girls are going to be in love with this handsome fella when he is in high school!
He takes after his dad, don't you think so?
Actually, he really makes me think of my brother Daniel. I guess it's because Daniel likes to make this facial expression a lot.

Daddy's Dinner
The other night, Alex decided he was ready to eat real food. We, of course, wouldn't give it to him. So, he took matters into his own hands when he thought no one was looking.

SoniToy
I was trying to finish a editing project and was getting close to the deadline...Alex was wanting to play...so, I turned on the Sonicare toothbrush and he was quite entertained for the time it took me to finish working. :)We discovered some months ago that this toothbrush was a great way to get Alex to calm down when he was crying at night when it was time for bed. Now, every time we brush our teeth he goes crazy trying to grab it a pull it into his own mouth. It is really funny. He absolutely LOVES it. The first time we he bit onto it while it was vibrating, he kind of twitched and jerked away because it tickled so bad...now he is a pro and can just gnaw on it with no problem.

Army Crawl
Alex is on the verge of crawling. He gets up on his hands and knees and sort of launches himself forward. But, his favorite way to move is by pulling himself with his arms. It is really cute to watch, especially when he is naked, because he moves so much faster.
Of course the downfall of all this, is that he is already finding cool things to play with...
Checking the email...(of course he was pounding on the keyboard and ripped off the letter "N" in a matter of seconds. It took Paul an hour to fix. ;)

Putting in a movie to watch...
6th folder, 6th picture
Isn't he cute? It was taken 8/14/08. Alex had just discovered his feet during this week and became obsessed with grabbing them...I admit this shot was posed...he was really good at grabbing one foot, but Paul thought it would be really cute if he grabbed both feet. Thanks to this new found talent, he now sucks on his big toe. :)

Rub-A-Dub-Dub...
Alex and his cousin Gavin had pictures taken last Thursday.
To get this picture we had to stick Alex in first and then Gavin sat on his little feet...it was a tight fit, but well worth it. :)
This was the best picture taking experience we have had so far...
due to the fact that they got to wear their favorite suits!

I had to "borrow" the images from the website, so they are not cropped in very well and you can't make then any bigger. But, we wanted everyone to see how cute their little buns are!

Handsome Cousins
Alexander & Domonic had their pictures taken together yesterday!
They both did pretty good. Alex thought the lady taking the pictures was hilarious. Domonic wasn't too sure, but he was also very tired and just wanted to take a nap. She got a couple of grins out of him though.
A: "Oooh! Gramsi's hair is fun to pull! Too bad you're not up here Dom!"NOTE: He wouldn't keep his hands out of Gramsi's hair in this shot. Every time I would get his chubby little fingers untangled he would grab on again. He was grunting and having the best time ever! It was really funny.

After the pictures we went to Red Robin and had lunch. Yum Yum! Then we went to a little shop called Jack & Jills to look for used baby stuff. Just as we were pulling into the parking lot, I heard a farty-bubbly noise coming from one of the boys' seats. I said, "Oh no, I think Alex pooed out his diaper again. He always does this!" Molly says, "Domonic hardly ever does that. I never even pack him extra outfits. In fact, I don't even think I brought baby wipes with me."
We both laugh... Then, we stop and start unloading the boys. I pull Alex out first and say, "Well, it wasn't him. Maybe it was just a big fart." Then Molly pulls Domonic out, "OH, Gross!! It soaked through the onsie and the jeans!" Luckily, I had brought baby wipes and not one, but TWO extra onsies for Alexander. So, Domonic was changed. Then Molly bought him some cute jeans at Jack & Jills and put those on him.
Skip to a few hours later:
We stop at Target to buy a booster seat for Alex. As we are taking it out of box, we hear that fateful sound again--a bubbly-fart! Gramsi was holding Domonic and it started leaking on her hand! Alex saves the day again as we use his burp cloth to cover the leakage... Then as we are checking out, Alex spits up all over Molly's arm and leg and leaves a big puddle on the floor...haha! The burp cloth has poo on it, so Gramsi had to get a target employee to clean it up. She didn't seem very amused.Monday, August 25, 2008
Rice Cereal
Alex's first experience with Rice Cereal went over pretty well...
I think he likes it!OK, so really, that picture was taken after his second dinner of rice cereal, and to be fair, he was really tired and had already eaten almost the whole dish.
This was actually the first time he ate it. Yes, I know he is crying again, but I hadn't even gotten the spoon in his mouth and they were definitely tears of excitement! I mean, who wouldn't be excited...4 1/2 months of a solid liquid diet...you might cry too if you were about to eat food for the first time!
As you can see, the minute I put the cereal in his mouth, he imeadiatly grabbed the spoon. He is a very feisty eater! If you don't dish it out fast enough he gets really mad and starts attacking his fists and his bib and anything else he can get a hold of.
Here is Daddy feeding him for the first time (Alex's second time). Now, this picture ends with the first picture I showed you of Alex crying...don't worry I didn't let him scream that long, just long enough to get a really quick picture to show his future girlfriends.

Unicycling in the Woods
Once upon a time, three brave lads decided to brave the trails of Cathedral Hills on their unicycles...Daniel rode off on another trail, so I didn't get any pictures of him riding.
Rochelle was the other photographer. We walked around the trails following the boys. We had to take a shortcut to get in front of them to get these videos.I accidentally recorded it sideways...sorry. :)
Ben was messing around and discovered that he could do a new trick!
When we were finished, the boys decided to ride their unicycles down the rode. We followed them in the cars and I got a few more shots. Paul was the only one who lasted the whole way (apparently it is not so comfortable to ride continuously if you're a guy...haha). It was probably about 1/4 to 1/2 mile ride to the main road.
