Alex always likes to watch me when I do the laundry. Today, he was standing in a basket of dirty laundry while I was emptying the clothes from the washer into the dryer. He suddenly started grabbing the clothes in the basket he was standing in and putting them into the washer. It was really funny, because he has never done this before, and I didn't even tell him to do it. After Paul came home from work I was doing another load and Alex started helping again. That's when we got this video.

A New Look for Paul
So we have been trying to find a really good hair cut for Paul because he has always had the same style. Plus, he is beginning a new job at NASA. We did it!!

We wanted to make sure that it was business as usual from the front, but we also wanted to spice it up a little in the back. We are totally shocked that Greg got the same style!!
In all seriousness, we wanted to congratulate Greg on his internship with NATO.
Love you Bro.,
PAUL

Going for Walk
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, Alex and I are home all day together, usually without a car. So, after his morning nap we usually go for a walk when the weather is good. (To be more precise, I walk and Alex rides in the stroller.) Since Alex has been getting so good at walking, I decided to let him try out his new skills and push his car down the sidewalk.
He actually made it pretty far down the street before his little legs got tired and he insisted on being carried.
His favorite part was stopping to eat/throw rocks.
Our neighbor's upside down recycle bin was also a big hit (see above pic).
After he got tired, we walked back home and got the trusty old stroller out. In the picture above is Alex making faces at me through the plastic roof while we walk.
We walked down to look at the house Sari and Andrew are trying to buy (which is really cool! and close our apartment) and then went to a little park that is just around the corner from us. The park is called Schroeder Park, or something like that, but it is also "Home of the B Street Jumps" (yes, it actually says this on the sign). The jumps are every little boy's/girl's, big boy's/girl's dream. There are little trails and jumps everywhere! The cool part is that people are always adding more and changing the jumps. Here is a picture of one of the newest additions:
They used a picnic table in this one, which I think was a big no-no, because when we went back yesterday it had been removed. It looked fun though!
There is also a play structure whose only fault is a lack of swings. Alex loves to climb it and slide down the fast slide on mommy's lap.

Hmmm, I am noticing a theme in his facial expressions. This is apparently the favorite.
And, last but not least, here is the super-cool rope climbing wall. Someday...

A Sticky Situation
Sometimes I wonder why I post, because no one seems to be looking at or commenting on our blog, but I guess I continue to do so in the hope that there are nameless-faceless bloggers out there who still enjoy a good laugh, a smile, but just don't have enough time to comment. This is what my mom and I keep telling ourselves anyways. Enough ranting...on to A Sticky Situation...
Setting: my house
Time: about 2:30
Scene: I am getting Alex and Gavin ready for naps. I change Gavin's poopy diaper and then I change Alex, but he escapes before I can get the fresh diaper on him. Not concerned, I let him enjoy his favorite pastime of running around naked while I feed Gavin his bottle. Then I take Gavin upstairs and put him in his bed. I come back downstairs and take Alex upstairs, nurse him, and put him in his crib. Meanwhile, I go and make dinner (check it out at serendipitykitchens.blogspot.com).
Two hours later I hear Alex crying so I go upstairs and lift him out of his crib. He has something on his face and I say, "What were you doing, eating chocolate?" That's when the smell finally hit me..."Oh no! I forgot to put a diaper on you!"
Yes, I did it, or should I say didn't do it...he was diaper-less for a good 2 hours, in his bed, sleeping most of the time, but from the looks of the brown fingerprints on his singing dog and all over the crib, he had a little play-date with the poo-monster as well. It was the biggest poopy mess i have ever had to clean up. This is coming from someone who has been sprayed in the face with poop.
Needless to say, Alex got a bath and Gavin woke up and had pooped (again!) and so he took a bath with Alex as well. They had a great time crawling around naked afterward.
Moral of the Story: Don't put a baby to bed without a diaper on.
I am hoping this story will help Megan feel a little bit better when I say I understand how she feels. Luckily, Heavenly Father gave us a sense of humor.

Alex's Walk for Grandma Gail
I decided to post this little video so you all can see how well Alex is walking. However, I really made this for Grandma Gail.

Cracker Face (no pun intended)
One of the few things Alex loves to eat is peanut butter. He loves PB&J sandwiches, PB on celery and PB on crackers. Here is his first taste of PB on crackers. He liked it so much, he decided to save some for later. Notice how he pretends he doesn't know it is there...
(Also notice how every time he drinks out of his cup he has to throw it off the tray when he is finished.)
