Drooling, Cooing, Smiling and Discovering My Mobile

Alexander is now five-and-a-half weeks old and has really started to smile and coo for us! He has a great smile, so I just had to share it with you. This picture was taken this morning. Alex wakes up every morning at about 6:00 and eats, and then he starts crying. As soon as we get up and I take him to his crib to get changed, he starts wiggling around, smiling and cooing. This morning, I turned on his mobile and he LOVED it! For the first time ever, he noticed it and couldn't stop staring at it. Here is a video of him in action:

Willy Wonka Comes to Town!

Willy Wonka decided to visit Grants Pass! Here is a picture of him with his family.

He brought some Oompa Loompas with him, too.

OK, I'll explain. The bank that Paul works for decided to hold an event for its customers that have business accounts. They recreated a little bit of the world of Willy Wonka, complete with a chocolate fountain, hot dogs, drinks, chips, popcorn, cotton candy and, of course, candy, candy and more candy! Guests didn't have to pay anything for this generous night of fun. They also enjoyed door prizes and a trivia game with prizes. AND, they watched the original Willy Wonka movie on a HUGE theater-size screen. Alex and I got to take part in the fun as well, and Paul was the host, Willy Wonka. He greeted everyone at the door, announced all of the prizes and got the night rollin'! It was a lot of fun for everyone! Isn't Willy Wonka hot?! I think so. :) I never thought I'd say it, but I'm in Love with Willy Wonka! Life is full of surprises.
