A Day At the Park

Back in August, my mom, Paul and I took Alex and Dominic to this new park in Central Point. It was really cool, with all of the latest and best play equipment, plus a little water park.
Alex and Paul literally flew down this super fast slide...

Dom has the hat on and is trying to climb up the tube slide with Alex right on his heels.

Dom and Alex loved the swings of course. :)

Dom and his cute little nose-scrunch smile.

Just to mix things up, Alex decided this dinosaur thing was scary and didn't want to have anything to do with it, while Dominic (who is usually a bit more wary of scary things) didn't mind sitting on it at all. Here I am trying to force Alex to get on the thing...he won.

There was a cute little toddler play structure in its own little area. The boys absolutely loved the slides and would have played on them the whole time if it was up to them. Not that they didn't enjoy all of the other stuff, but the slides were by far the highlight of the day. Every time Alex would get to the top of the slide he would hold out his arms and count, "uh, ooh, OH!" (one, two, go!), which would then warn us before he went down, so we could catch him. Dominic on the other hand, would run to the top of the slide shrieking with laughter and immediately dive down (on his stomach most of the time) without any warning at all. He really kept us on our toes.
Ahhh! We're locked in jail!

Ahhhhh, and the refreshing water park... Alex and Dom loved the water the squirted randomly out of these holes in the ground.

They both were laughing so hard.

video
Here is a cute video of them playing with it. That high-pitched shrieking is coming from Dom. :)

Here is Paul trying to convince the boys that it is really fun to run under the spraying water. Dominic wisely ran the other way....Alex eventually ran to Daddy, but it turned out to be a mistake. Paul wasn't paying attention to the big bucket behind and above him that was slowly filling with water. Right after Alex ran to him it dumped on them both. Surprise! It was really funny because no one was expecting it. And, I caught it all on tape.

The pcitures didn't show it, but there were some really cool big-kid toys here--a tall spider-web-bucket-shaped-merry-go-round, a swing shaped like shallow bowl about five feet in diameter, climbing walls, and tons more. It was a really fun day!

Happy Halloween!

Uncle Randy loves to frighten all the trick-or-treaters. The funny thing about this picture is that he didn't know it was us at the door...it could have been anyone.

My adorable little puppy getting ready to head out for trick-or-treating fun! Alex absolutely LOVED being a puppy! He wore the costume all week leading up to Halloween, because he just loves dogs and especially pretending to be one.
Dominic is practicing his tiger "ROAR!" Alex was quite amused with Dom's costume, too.

WOW! The first house we went to had this cool globe, and Alex was mesmerized. He obviously hadn't realized people were just handing candy out for free yet...

Alex the puppy, Paul the Everlost punching bag, Dom the tiger, and John the cool dude.

After our adventure, we went back to Molly and John's for a very delicious party! Dominic enjoyed sneaking a bite out of mommy's dirt-and-worm-cupcake.

Gramsi played outside with the kids.

They all wanted to swing on the "high-wire" swing at the same time...but we had to take turns. :)

Dominic just giggled and giggled.

Alex loved it when I would pat my legs and say, "Pat, pat, pat...BLAST OFF!" (from Little Einstines) and give him a big push.

Gavin loved it, too! (He dressed up as a chicken.)

Alex and Connor also enjoyed Dom's sandbox. Connor was a pirate skeleton.

We had a lot of fun this year with the boys!

Pumkin Patch

We had a great time at the pumpkin patch! Alex loved it and would hardly sit for this picture. He just wanted to run, run, run!

*poor pumpkins*

Gavin and Alex loved riding in the wagons. Paul, got the best job of all...lugging all the pumpkins back to the entrance. :)
The kids loved this little wagon, so of course it was the cause of much contention. Especially when Alex decided to sit in it. Gavin was very upset and proceeded to try and throw him out of it...you can see where this is leading...

Connor caught a miniature frog.

Paul and Alex went on a search for that perfect pumpkin.

They found "the one."

There was also a little farm with a steer...he was apparently very young.

Chickens, of course! They got to feed the chickens, too! Of course, no one but the adults would do it. There was also a really friendly horse. Alex's first instinct was to reach out and pet it just like Daddy, but....

...the horse moved its head and after that Alex wouldn't touch it! He cringed away every time he went near it.
A few days later we brought the pumpkins inside to carve them. I thought Alex would really like pulling the guts out, but as always he surprised me. At first he was really interested when I started scooping them out, and I convinced him to help me. So, he sticks his hand in and pulls out a glob of pumpkin goo and then licks it! YUCK! He was very disgusted by the taste and refused to touch it after that. Even though I tried to show him that he doesn't need to eat it.
After I carved his pumpkin, Alex enjoyed trying to stick the pieces back in the holes...kind of like a homemade shape ball.

Daddy and Alex carving away!

Alex, inspecting the mess we are making.

Seeing a glowing pumpkin for the first time! Look those eyes! He was quite impressed.

And, here is Alex's pumpkin. I somehow failed to get pictures of the other two...hmmm, how did I do that? Oh well, maybe next year.

What's your favorite food?

SPAGHETTI!!!
Alex absolutely loves loves loves spaghetti. From the first time he ate it it was love at first bite! I know that sounds kind of vampire-ish, but it is the truth. I have to admit that I am also a spaghetti fan. If I wasn't feeling so crummy, I would dig out a picture my mom took of me that is twin-like in its similarity to this one of Alex. Alex is in heaven with spaghetti and always gets it all over himself. Despite what it may look like, he really did eat everything I dished up for him.

video
And, here is a spaghetti face video, complete with a few "cheese" moments and a very cheesy grin to top it all off.

These are just some cute, random July pictures:

Wearing Mommy's plush lion socks (his favorite-he always notices if I wear them and sometimes takes them off of me), and his hard hat.

The happy helper....he was having so much fun throwing shredded paper everywhere, that it was worth cleaning up later. :)

And, another bucket head picture, just cause he's so darn cute!

Funny Hat Boy

The only thing Alex loves more than one hat, is two hats!

Add a toothbrush and a nose sucker and you have the perfect recipe for giggles.

(Ignore the date stamp, these were taken at the end of June.)

He is a little comedian!

How to Make the Perfect Cake (according to Alex)

Hmmm...what shall I make for dessert?
How about a little flour...

Oooh, this is really exciting!

Stir three times to the left, and one to the right...

Then make sure you taste it.
Ugh, I think it needs more salt!

What? You don't taste your food when you're cooking?

video
Alex tends to immediately want my attention EVERY TIME I am trying to cook dinner. So, one day back in June, I gave him his own bowl, spoon and flour to keep him busy. Then I added some craisins to keep things interesting. He was quite amused for some time. Of course, he was so cute that I delayed making dinner even further by stopping to take pictures of the little rascal.

Bucket Head & Nature Boy

BUCKET HEAD
Alex dug this lettuce bowl out of the cupboard and was wearing it on his head when I walked into the kitchen.
He thought he was pretty tricky when he let go of it and it stayed on his head.
Isn't he adorable? Oh, I just love this little boy!

video
He was being so funny, but of course as soon as I started filming he took the bowl off of his head. Then he was making this white bowl fly around and just being silly, so the video wasn't wasted after all. :)

NATURE BOY came to our back yard!

As he often does, Alex escaped to the backyard naked. He was laughing as he ran away from me...
And then he fell down in the dirt, sticks and leaves on his naked little bum and it wasn't so funny anymore.

I know, I know, I should have ran to his rescue, but it was just so funny.

RANDOM PICTURE OF THE DAY

And here is a random picture of Paul and Alex watching TV together. Aren't they sweet?
