What's your favorite food?

SPAGHETTI!!!
Alex absolutely loves loves loves spaghetti. From the first time he ate it it was love at first bite! I know that sounds kind of vampire-ish, but it is the truth. I have to admit that I am also a spaghetti fan. If I wasn't feeling so crummy, I would dig out a picture my mom took of me that is twin-like in its similarity to this one of Alex. Alex is in heaven with spaghetti and always gets it all over himself. Despite what it may look like, he really did eat everything I dished up for him.

And, here is a spaghetti face video, complete with a few "cheese" moments and a very cheesy grin to top it all off.

These are just some cute, random July pictures:

Wearing Mommy's plush lion socks (his favorite-he always notices if I wear them and sometimes takes them off of me), and his hard hat.

The happy helper....he was having so much fun throwing shredded paper everywhere, that it was worth cleaning up later. :)

And, another bucket head picture, just cause he's so darn cute!

Funny Hat Boy

The only thing Alex loves more than one hat, is two hats!

Add a toothbrush and a nose sucker and you have the perfect recipe for giggles.

(Ignore the date stamp, these were taken at the end of June.)

He is a little comedian!

How to Make the Perfect Cake (according to Alex)

Hmmm...what shall I make for dessert?
How about a little flour...

Oooh, this is really exciting!

Stir three times to the left, and one to the right...

Then make sure you taste it.
Ugh, I think it needs more salt!

What? You don't taste your food when you're cooking?

video
Alex tends to immediately want my attention EVERY TIME I am trying to cook dinner. So, one day back in June, I gave him his own bowl, spoon and flour to keep him busy. Then I added some craisins to keep things interesting. He was quite amused for some time. Of course, he was so cute that I delayed making dinner even further by stopping to take pictures of the little rascal.

Bucket Head & Nature Boy

BUCKET HEAD
Alex dug this lettuce bowl out of the cupboard and was wearing it on his head when I walked into the kitchen.
He thought he was pretty tricky when he let go of it and it stayed on his head.
Isn't he adorable? Oh, I just love this little boy!

video
He was being so funny, but of course as soon as I started filming he took the bowl off of his head. Then he was making this white bowl fly around and just being silly, so the video wasn't wasted after all. :)

NATURE BOY came to our back yard!

As he often does, Alex escaped to the backyard naked. He was laughing as he ran away from me...
And then he fell down in the dirt, sticks and leaves on his naked little bum and it wasn't so funny anymore.

I know, I know, I should have ran to his rescue, but it was just so funny.

RANDOM PICTURE OF THE DAY

And here is a random picture of Paul and Alex watching TV together. Aren't they sweet?

Our 4th Anniversary

Paul and I celebrated our 4th Anniversary on June 17, 2009!

Paul planned the whole thing himself. He arranged for my mom to babysit Alex and told me we were going to dinner somewhere. He even told me what to wear, because I had no clue where we were going.

He reserved the Evergreen Room at the new Taprock Northwest Grill, so we had the whole room to ourselves! It was really special and fun. We had our own personal server, and the owner and the manager came at different times and checked on us to make sure we were being taken care of. We were really impressed.
We even got this special flower arrangment from the Evergreen Bank (this is also where Paul is employed). Our friend at the bank arranged the whole thing, including the flowers. They were beautiful.

We were very impressed by the food. It was inexpensive, yet high-quality and delicious!!!
Paul liked it so much, that he tried to steal mine.
And then he decided a life of crime was exhausting, and took a nap on the couch in front of the fireplace.

After dinner and relaxing, we took a walk on the grounds. This bridge and waterfall were right outside the Evergreen Room. It makes for a spectacular view.
This is an area underneath the main dining deck. There are really cool murals all over, with hidden animals and gnomes in them.
Here is Paul in front of a really cool tree carving.

We had a wonderful anniversary. I thought Paul did a wonderful job planning the whole thing. To top the night off he also surprised me by buying us a CD player for our car.

I can't believe how fast the last four years of marriage have flown by. We have so much fun together. I love Paul so much. Happy Anniversary honey!

18 Months Old!

My how this boy has grown! Alex is so much fun. He is such a little comedian and loves to make us laugh.
He has this deep little voice and a cute husky chuckle. When he wants someones attention he yells, "MA!" repetitively until he feels he has your full attention. So, even if you look strait at him and say "What?" he will continue to say "MA!" three or four times after that. It is really funny.

He loves to play with his cousins, Gavin and Dominic. Here he is with Gavin, watchig Sit and Be Fit. haha
He discovered the joy of stickers a few weeks ago and absolutely loves them. He even made up his own sign for it. It is similar to the "milk" sign, but with both hands opening and closing like you have something sticky on your fingers. He also loves glasses, and yes, he thinks he is wearing them in the above picture.
Alex is also a very sensitive boy and bursts into tears when anyone is mean to him. When he gets into trouble he will do anything to make you smile, because he hates a serious face and tone of voice. He is such a sweetie. When the phone rings he always thinks it is Daddy. When I put Paul on speaker phone Alex just grins and then kisses the phone.

We can't believe he is officially allowed in nursery! He has already been going, but I usually stay in there with him. He is so brave about it that he could care less that I am there. I usually end up holding Gavin, who isn't so keen on being in there.
Alex has slowed down the weight gain and is starting to stretch out. He loves to be outside and he loves, loves loves any kind of animal, especially cats and dogs. We love this little boy so much and thank our Heavenly Father for him every day.

Exploring Boundaries

Back in June, Alex kicked it up a notch and realized that cupboards hold a lot of surprises. He and Gavin went on a little adventure into the kitchen one day, and this is where I found them.

video

Alex also discovered the thrill of climbing. He found that there are a lot of things that you can climb if you just look a little closer at the world around you.
Toys make for great stepping stools...

So, does Gavin's car seat... He thought he was really tricky because he was rocking it back and forth, thus the look on his face.

And, speakers work well, too.

video
The only problem is that sometimes he climbs up, and then can't figure out how to get down. :)

One a side note, I know you can't really see his face, but I posted this picture because Alex was laughing really hard at himself in the mirror. He now likes to wave at and kiss his reflection. He is so silly.
