Austin Loves Sand

What more can I add?

Austin is 9 Months Old!

Austin is getting big! (sort of) The doctor describes him as "short and fluffy." Not to say he is on the chubby side compared to his fellow baby friends, but i guess his height to weight ratio makes him this way. But his head size saves the day, because it hits somewhere way above average, making his overall measurements right smack in the middle of the percentile of kids his age. Not to say my baby is "average" by any means...:)
Here are his stats: Height-27 1/2 in., weight- 18 lb 14 oz, head circumrerence-18 1/4 in.

Here he is sporting his Oompa-Loompa look.
Austin gets comments about his eyes all the time. I don't know what they are talking about. :)
He is really getting into using sign language. And, as of this morning, he can sign milk, more, all done, and drink.
He also talks a lot! He is a real talker, especially at 6AM every morning! The only two words we can really understand are Mama and Da! This morning he was laying him bed with us, crawling all over me when he spotted his Daddy on the other side of Alex (who was also sleeping in bed with us). He exclaimed, "Da! Da!" and proceeded to climb over Alex and attack Pauls face.
Austin also waves goodbye, but sometimes it takes a little coaxing. He is really adorable, LOVES to snuggle, loves to give kisses, he also like to hug other people. If someone walk up to him that he likes he will reach for them, hug them around the neck and then trun around and try and leap back into my arms.
He also loves to have someone hold his hands so he can walk around. Uncle Ben is his offical "walking partner" and Austin thinks that that is his personal job. He actually expects it of him everytime he sees him. It is really cute.
We sure love this boy!

Eight months old and Can't Get Enough to Eat

This boy loves food. I mean he LOVES it! If you are eating Austin will literally sniff you out and attack you. We get about 100+ jars of baby food from WIC each month, but he will hardly touch the stuff because he wants the real thing!
Here he is eating spaghetti and meat sauce. I don't ever blend up his food, I just chop it really fine if it is meat or something. He prefers it that way because he insists on feeding himself. If I feed him with a spoon he usually won't even take a bite unless he is holding the spoon as it enters his mouth.

So, what is his favorite food? MEAT! Chicken, ham, pork, and especially steak! I just cut it up really small and he wolfs it down. He also eats mashed pototoes, whole canned green beans, cooked carrots, beans...pretty much anything as long as it is served whole (or in small pieces..not blended though).

Every morning while I am cooking breakfast he runs around the house in his walker and eats cheerios and raisins. When breakfast is ready he is transferred to his highchair where he usually eats scrambled eggs and fruit. Austin just amazes me with his eating habits. He has been a big eater since he was 4 months old. But, he seriously eats three full meals a day, plus all his snacking and frequent nursing...does he have a hollow leg? He is probably going to be a very expensive teenager to feed. You would think with all the food he eats that he would sleep through the night...I wish! I sure love him though!

Sunny Play Day in March?!

Isn't Austin adorable?!
I sure love this boy!

Trying out the swing for the first time.

He loved it.

Dominic (pictured in front) came over for the day.

He and Alex played outside ALL day...I think it was something like 11AM to 4PM...5 hours!

Oops! I think Austin is done! Alex was pushing him. I am certain that is not why he is crying :)

The boys kept bringing me this pitcher to refill with warm water. They played like this for at least an hour.

Dipping, drinking, dumping...
so simple...

Now it's time for a mud bath in the sand box! (Alex left, Dom right)

Mud pie...Mmmmm (Alex)

Alex sees an airplane...Dom is eying the ball of mud in his hand.

Alex loves mud and water....typical boy I guess. :)

Dominic with a mud worm (or is it a sea horse) on his forehead...

Roley-Poley-Ollie!

Alex is really excited that he can sort of wrestle with Austin now. And pull his ears out! haha

Visitors

Aunt Anastasia and Uncle Tyler Harman came to visit!

Alex LOVED having them stay with us! He especially warmed up to Tyler and was pretty sad when his "friend" (as he called him) had to leave. Austin was thrilled as always to have more people to entertain him.

The day they left, we gained three more kids! Paige, Connor and Gavin stayed with us for four days and three nights.

Gavin(above) and Alex(below) decided that it was warm enough to swim in the muddy rain water.

My mom made cinnamon roles for us to take home and we have a cinnamin role birthday party.

Left to Right: Connor, Gavin, Alex, Paige. We sang to everone at once, then re-lit the candles and did it all individually. I think the kids would have done it all day if I let them. :)

Happy Birthday Alex!

Happy Birthday Gavin!

Happy Birthday Connor!

Happy Birthday Paige!

And, Alex again. :) He was super excited about his "happy cake" as he calls it. He thanked ZiZi over and over again for the cinnamon roles.

The kids were all wonderful! Especially Paige and Connor who were BIG helpers with Austin and the little boys.

Austin at 6 Months Old

Here's the little booger sitting in the sink while I get ready for the day. It was the only way I could take the time to do my hair or brush my teeth in the morning.

I meant to do this post a while ago. He weighed about 15 lbs at 6 months old.

I love this picture!

He has grown so much since these pictures were taken.

Little frog boy!

Austin is deffinitly not as chubby as Alex was at this age.

But, he is darn cute!

He started sitting up really good at the beginning of March, and he started army crawling when he saw something he really liked. He is getting so big! And look at those big eyes, he gets comments all the time about them.

I guess I need to do an eighth month old post now :)

Two Peas in a Pod

Alex and Austin absolutly LOVE each other. It is really cute. Alex tells me at least 10 times a day, "Mom, I love-a my baby Austin!" Meanwhile, Austin looks at Alex like he is his personal super hero.

Alex still frequently asks, "Mom, my wanna hold baby Austin." Then, he puts his arms around his neck and exclaims, "Awwwww."

Now that Austin can ceawl, Alex loves to try and wrestle with him or play peek-a-boo. Austin just giggles and giggles!
