Potty Training

"I looked out the window and what did I see...Alex peeing on our only tree."
It was a sign...I guess we need to start potty training.
I know, my reluctance is obvious. But, we were in the middle of buying a house and could be moving any day. So, we decided to wait until after the move, even though he was showing obvious signs of being ready.

Enter cousin Gavin (above), a highly-motivated boy who practically potty-trained himself. Gavin (and his siblings Paige and Connor) stayed at our house for three days while their parents were out of town.

The final night that they were at our house, Alex told me he didn't want to wear diapers anymore. He absolutly REFUSED to wear one to bed...when he ended up in our bed in the middle of the night because he peed his bed he STILL REFUSED to wear a diaper. So, of course he peed in our bed, too. :) (yes, I laugh now, but it wasn't that amusing at 4 in the morning)

Weeks later, this is a common sight. "When you gotta go, you gotta go" is phrase he lives by now. He is well known to drop his pants anywhere, yes even in the Home Depot drop-off zone (thanks Mom :).

I can't say it was easy, or clean (washing out poopy undies in the toilet gross!), or not frustrating at times, but despite the move and all the craziness that goes along with it,
Alex and I are proud to announce he his offically potty trained!

He even occasionally falls alseep on the toilet...literally. ;)

Ah, the perks of being a boy! Nuala pees in our backyard sometimes, but it's not quite as easy as it is for Bran. Or Alex. Or any other male, for that matter...
