Blessing the Sawdust

So, we went on a hike/nature walk in Jacksonville on Memorial Day. This was Alex and Dominic's first "real" hike, meaning they were not strapped in backpacks or slings, and actually got to hike (AKA: run/walk/meander/climb things). It was a real adventure for them.
They loved exploring every hole and bug and tree and rock we came across.
This is a Giraffe-tree we found in the woods.

At one point in our venture, Alex ran ahead of us and we came upon him sitting behind a stump praying (for his invisible food). He was so cute, and he knew it, that he "prayed" a few times for us, but the last act involved "eating" his food when finished praying. Molly caught his grand finale on video. Enjoy!

Yes, he got a little carried away and actually licked up the pile of sawdust on the top of the stump. I am hoping that one day Alex will grow out of his need to taste everything he comes across, but at least for now it provides for cheap entertainment. :)

This was a really fun nature walk. We were in Jacksonville - they have these really cool trails that zig zag everywhere.

Dominic and Alex tromped around shooting monsters and snakes and hiding from each other.

My favorite picture is that top one with Dominic's great smile, I wish Alex had his smile out too! Ohwell, in my dreams to get them both in a good shot!

if you re-watch the video a couple times you can hear alex praying and saying "AMEN!" right before the drama. LOL that was awesome. I'm really glad Dominic doesn't need to eat everything!

that was too funny. i was remembering when i saw him drink the puddle of muddy water at the park! just getting caught up, so it was good to see your newest little boy (yay!), car, trip to the hospital, and everything!

Ha!! That's so funny! And he had some major licking going on, none of that half-hearted stuff! I love the look on his face after he licked it up, haha! Looks/sounds like a fun hike, that pic of the two of them is so cute. I'm excited to see them this summer, 2-year olds are so fun :)
